MLA Shameema distributes relief cheques to fire-hit families

Srinagar, Jul 29: National Conference (NC) Women’s Wing President and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Habba Kadal, Shameema Firdous on Tuesday visited the fire-hit localities of Malaratta, Shahmohalla and Chattabal and distributed relief cheques totalling Rs 4.50 lakhs to the affected families.She was accompanied by Revenue Department officials who facilitated the distribution process and assessed the damage, the party said in a statement issued here.Shameema expressed solidarity with the affected families and reiterated her commitment to ensuring timely assistance and rehabilitation. She directed the officials to ensure that the victim families are extended further support under various government welfare schemes and assured continued monitoring of their needs in the coming weeks.The MLA emphasised the need for proactive measures to prevent such incidents and called for coordination between departments to strengthen emergency response mechanisms.
