Srinagar, Jul 29: National Conference (NC) General Secretary and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday undertook an extensive tour of the Khawja Bazaar and Mir Masjid areas within the Khanyar constituency to assess on-ground issues and public grievances. He was accompanied by officials from key departments, including the Public Health Engineering (PHE), Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), City Roads Division, NWR, and others, the party said in a statement issued here.During the visit, the MLA interacted with residents, took note of pressing civic and infrastructural issues, and directed the concerned departments to adopt a public-oriented approach in addressing them. Stressing the importance of timely redressal, he emphasised responsiveness, transparency, and accountability in government service delivery.Sagar announced the macadamisation of several critical roads in the constituency with an allocation of Rs 40 lakhs. He announced the resumption of the drainage network work from Hamambal to Nowhatta, estimated at nearly Rs 1 crore, to address long-standing drainage and sanitation concerns. The NC leader expressed serious concern over the quality and execution of works carried out under the Smart City Project by various departments.
