Jammu, May 23: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Marh, Surinder Kumar, in collaboration with “Widow & Orphans NGO,” facilitated the scholarship form-filling process for approximately 100 needy children in Marh Assembly constituency.
“Selected children will receive a monthly assistance of Rs 1900 to support their education. Scholarship will provide financial assistance and ensure access to education for underprivileged children,” the MLA’s office said in a statement issued here.
“This initiative reflects the commitment to serving the needy sections of society. It will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the lives of these children, empowering them through education,” it added.
The event was attended by Special Guests Junain Ahmed, NGO Coordinator, NGO Members and Shakti Sharma, social worker.
The MLA said education is a fundamental right of every child. “Ensuring access to education for all children is crucial to realising India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, a prime dream of the PM Modi government,” he said.
He urged society and affluent individuals to come forward and support this cause, ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to economic constraints. This collective effort can empower underprivileged children and pave the way for a brighter future, he said.
Kumar expressed heartfelt appreciation for NGOs dedicated to promoting education, particularly “Widow and Orphans NGO.” He acknowledged their commendable work in empowering young minds through education, which enables them to distinguish right from wrong and make informed choices.
“Education is a powerful tool for shaping young minds and helping them navigate life’s challenges. By supporting educational initiatives, we can foster a more informed, compassionate, and responsible society,” he added.
