Srinagar, Jul 11: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan, called on Managing Director of the Housing Board J&K, Shahbaz Mirza, here, to urge the prompt release of pending financial assistance to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).During the meeting, the MLA was informed that hundreds of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) houses in Kathua district alone remain incomplete in urban areas, as the disbursal of the pending housing assistance installments has not been made despite beneficiaries fulfilling all necessary requirements.Dr Bhushan said that a similar situation exists in other urban areas across Jammu and Kashmir, causing hardship to poor and houseless families. The Managing Director assured that the government is aware of the issue and that the pending liabilities would be cleared soon.The MLA invited Mirza to visit Kathua to oversee development projects and address other issues related to the Housing Colony in Kathua.
