BUDGAM, Apr 30: The Budgam district witnessed minor landslides attributed to adverse weather conditions, impacting certain parts of the region. However, no public property incurred damage as a consequence of these occurrences.
MaeenKakroo, Tehsildar of Beerwah, said that a minor landslide occurred in Kandoora village, resulting into damage to the Kandoora-Beerwah road. Kakroo, however, assured that the concerned department has been promptly notified to begin repairs in the affected village.
“The damaged portion of the road caused by the landslide will be repaired immediately,” he confirmed.
In the Chadoora sub-division, minor landslides affecting various villages were reported.
SDM Chadoora, Primroz Bashir, indicated that response teams have been dispatched to address the minor landslides. Efforts have been made to restore all closed link roads to facilitate smooth traffic flow in the area.
“We received a distress call regarding a house with cracks. The family was evacuated in time and relocated to safer places,” Bashir stated.
Meanwhile, landslides were documented in the Doodhakhatu area, resulting in damage to a section of the road infrastructure.
Furthermore, landslides impacted ChalyanChotinard Haji Mohalla in the Charar-i-Shareef tehsil. However, no loss of property was reported in landslide incident.
