MeT predicts two day light rain spell from Saturday

Srinagar, Sep 21: The Meteorological Department on Wednesday said they were expecting two-day light spell of rain from Saturday, adding that the weather will remain mostly remain dry and clear in the region in the next week.
Deputy Director Meteorological Department Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that they were expecting light to moderate rains between 24th and 25th September in Kashmir region.
“It will be followed by another light spell of rain on 29-30th September. However there will be a slight decrease in day temperatures in coming days,” he said.
On Wednesday, Srinagar recorded 29.3 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 15.2 degrees Celsius.
Ski-resort Gulmarg in Baramulla district recorded 19.8 degrees Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius.
Health resort Pahalgam recorded 23.6°C, and Qazigund 27.6°C.
Kupwara in north Kashmir was the hottest place in Kashmir recording maximum temperatures of 30.7 °C, while minimum temperature recorded here was 10.8 °C.
As per traffic advisory issued by the department, subject to fair weather and better road conditions, light motor vehicles (LMVs-passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Thursday.
The advisory further read that the HMVs, load carriers and stranded vehicles in Udhampur jurisdiction shall be allowed towards Srinagar. However, it is said that TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
On Mughal road, subject to fair weather LMVs from both sides and HMVs (upto ten tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road.
