Jammu, Apr 27: Mehraj Malik, the newly appointed President of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) J&K-UT and MLA from Doda, convened a pivotal meeting in Jammu on Sunday to rejuvenate the party.
Following directives from the party’s central high command, the meeting marked a strategic step towards addressing upcoming political challenges.
Over 100 AAP leaders, volunteers, and workers participated enthusiastically, engaging in thorough discussions aimed at dissolving the old party structure and reinvigorating dedicated founding members to create a fresh face for AAP in the Union Territory. Participants resolved to enhance their outreach efforts, focusing on grassroots engagement by promoting the impactful policies and programs of AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal up to the booth level.
In his address, Malik inspired party workers to pursue new political changes within the UT, emphasising the importance of sincere efforts at both constituency and ward levels, a statement issued here said.
He announced that new party representatives for all Assembly constituencies in Jammu Province would be nominated shortly. Additionally, key appointments were made, including Apu Singh Slathia as the party spokesperson for J&K-UT, Nirmal Mahana as the spokesperson for Jammu Province, and K.K. Rao as the Media In-charge for Jammu Province.
Malik affirmed that AAP plans to contest the upcoming Panchayat, Municipality, and Assembly elections vigorously, urging party workers to prepare to face the impending challenges. The revitalisation efforts signal AAP’s commitment to establishing a significant presence in J&K as the political landscape evolves.
