Kishtwar, Aug 24: A comprehensive market inspection was conducted on Saturday in Kishtwar town on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan to keep check on profiteering and quality of food stuff on the eve of Shri Krishna Janamashtami.
The inspection team was led by Shafkat Keen, Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), and comprised Food Safety Officer, and officers and officials from the Revenue Department, Police and Municipality.
The market inspection aimed to ensure the quality and pricing of essential commodities, particularly those in high demand during the festive season.
During the inspection, defaulters were fined for non-compliance with the prescribed guidelines. As a result, a fine amounting to ₹3,000 was imposed against these violators.
