Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a person with 1300 bottles of codeine in Kaloosa Nathpora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District.
Briefing Press, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shafaat Mohammad said that based on specific information, a team of the Bandipora police along with magistrate laid search operation in Nathpora Kaloosa locality of Bandipora and recovered 1300 bottles of codeine Phosphate.
He said that the accused person namely Maqsood Ahmad Rather of Kaloosa involved in the sale and supply of these bottles has also been arrested.
He further said that investigation as of now is underway and more arrested are expected in this case.
“I urge the people, wherever they see anyone buying or selling this social menace, to contact us immediately so that people especially younger generation can be saved from this social menace”, he added.
