Anantnag, Apr 26: Abhijeet Patil, Chairman of Raja Rani Travels, a Maharashtra-based tour and travel agency, on Saturday said he was deeply moved after seeing the video of the mother of Adil Hussain Shah, who sacrificed his life while saving tourists during the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
“The day I saw that video, I broke down,” he said during his condolence visit to Shah’s residence, along with National Conference leaders.
Patil said he had requested J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his Advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani to allow him to visit Adil’s home. “I thank MLA Altaf for giving me the opportunity. I represent all the Maharashtra and Gujarat tour operators. The sacrifice of Adil Bhai will not go in vain,” he said.
Abhijeet said the Maharashtra Tour Operators Association held an emergency video conference on April 23, where they decided no tours to Kashmir would be cancelled.
“We want to assure the travel and hospitality industry here that we will continue to work together to move forward,” he said.
Patil added, “A few unfortunate incidents have occurred, but the whole of India stands with the people of Kashmir. We are brothers.”
