Srinagar, Oct 24 : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and extended warm Vijayadashmi greetings.
During the meeting, Lieutenant Governor Sinha expressed his festive wishes, saying, “Met Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today and wished him a blissful Vijayadashmi,”
In a gesture symbolising the cultural richness of Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha also presented a traditional offering known as ‘Kong Posh,’ comprising saffron flowers, to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of the Union Territory.
An image shared on the official account of the Office of LG captured the moment when Lieutenant Governor Sinha presented a beautifully crafted Kashmiri Paper Machie bowl filled with saffron flowers to Prime Minister Modi.
In addition to his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Lieutenant Governor Sinha held discussions with Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology.
“Their conversation encompassed a wide range of topics related to the information technology sector, with a particular focus on the implementation of Bharat Net Phase-III. This initiative aims to extend digital connectivity to remote and challenging terrains, ensuring that even the most isolated areas benefit from the advantages of digital communication and technology,” said the officials.
The meetings underscore the collaborative efforts to promote cultural exchange and digital connectivity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirm the commitment to enhancing the region’s overall development and prosperity.
A significant initiative known as Bharat Net Phase-III is set to transform digital connectivity across India, with a particular focus on reaching remote and challenging terrains. The goal is to ensure that even the most isolated areas benefit from the advantages of digital communication and technology. This project holds the promise of a more connected and technologically advanced nation.
During recent discussions, government officials emphasized the vital role that Bharat Net Phase-III will play in bridging the digital divide, particularly in remote regions that have historically faced connectivity challenges.
The initiative is designed to bring high-speed internet access and digital infrastructure to these areas, opening up new opportunities for education, healthcare, e-governance, and economic development.
Highlighting the significance of this endeavour, the officials noted that it aligns with the broader vision to promote cultural exchange and digital connectivity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It underscores the commitment to enhancing the region’s overall development and prosperity by ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to the benefits of digital communication and technology.
