Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan Jammu to take stock of the situation arising out of incessant rains and floods across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations, restoration of essential services, and the preparedness of Union Territory administration along with central agencies to tackle the crisis.
Senior officials of the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and concerned departments briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the measures being undertaken on the ground to ensure safety of people and minimize damage.
Sinha directed the administration to work in close coordination with all concerned agencies for swift evacuation, timely assistance to affected families, and speedy restoration of essential services including power, water supply, and road connectivity.
