Srinagar, Sept 11: Several legislators, including MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Karnah, Javid Ahmad Mirchal and MLA Rajouri, Iftikhar Ahmed, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Raabita Public Outreach Office here on Thursday.
The legislators apprised the Chief Minister of pressing developmental issues impacting their respective constituencies, as well as challenges posed in the aftermath of the recent flood situation in the region.
During the interaction, the MLAs raised critical concerns related to infrastructure development, improvement of basic civic amenities, road connectivity, and health services, among others, from their respective constituencies. They asked for accelerated implementation of various development projects, especially in remote and flood-affected zones, to ensure sustainable progress and improved quality of life for the local population.
The legislators briefed the Chief Minister about the hardships faced by people due to the recent flood situation, as well as losses to crops and houses. They appreciated the spontaneous rehabilitation and restoration measures employed by the government for the facilitation of the affected population.
Acknowledging the gravity of the concerns raised, the Chief Minister assured the legislators that the government remains fully committed to addressing both developmental imperatives and disaster-related challenges with utmost urgency. “The government is determined to fast-track development projects and adopt proactive measures to mitigate future flood risks,” Omar said.
The CM asked the MLAs to work in unison toward the holistic development of their respective constituencies as well as the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir.
