Leeniv Softball Academy clinches both men, women titles in Pulwama Championship

Pulwama, Sept 24: Leeniv Softball Academy, Tral, emerged victorious in both the Men’s and Women’s categories of the District Pulwama Softball Championship 2024-25. The championship, organized by the Softball Association of Pulwama in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, concluded at Sports Stadium Bajwani, Tral, after two days of intense competition.
Hundreds of young athletes from across the district showcased their skills in various categories, including Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior divisions. The event saw participation from over 220 players representing different clubs, colleges, and schools.
The closing ceremony was graced by Waseem Raja Khan, Secretary of the J&K Softball Association, as the chief guest. He praised the professional organization of the event and emphasized the importance of regular local tournaments to promote the sport at the zonal and club levels. He also extended his gratitude to the J&K Sports Council, particularly its Secretary, Nuzhat Gul, for supporting the revival of softball in the Union Territory.
Farooq Trali, Chairman of the Citizens Council, Tral, and guest of honor at the event, commended the collaboration between the J&K Sports Council and the Softball Association in creating opportunities for young athletes.
International softball athlete Ayush Singh, recently appointed to train the J&K Junior Softball team for the upcoming 42nd Junior National Softball Championship, was present as a special guest. Singh inspired the budding athletes with his presence and words of encouragement.
The winners in different categories were awarded medals and trophies for their exceptional performances. Below are the final results:
Men’s Section
Winners: Leeniv Softball Academy, Runners-up: Friend’s Softball Club, Third Place: Warriors Softball Club
Women’s Section
Winners: Leeniv Softball Academy, Runners-up: Government Degree College, Pampore, Third Place: Young Queen’s Softball Club
Junior Boys
Winners: Hero’s Softball Club, Runners-up: Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Bajwani, Third Place: Star Softball Club, Bajwani
Junior Girls
Winners: WAIS Softball Club, Runners-up: Akmal Institute, Tral, Third Place: Salfia Softball Club
Sub-Junior Boys
Winners: Murad Softball Club, Runners-up: London Kids School, Tral, Third Place: Ayat Softball Academy
Sub-Junior Girls
Winners: Hiller Softball Club, Runners-up: Little Angels Softball Academy, Tral, Third Place: Young Hawk Softball, Tral
