Bandipora, Aug 01: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora-1, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW), successfully organized a one-day Training-cum- Awareness Programme aimed at empowering rural youth, with a special focus on young girls.As per a statement issued here, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 75 rural girls, highlighting a growing interest in entrepreneurship and agricultural innovation among the youth of the region.The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mir, Scientist (Animal Science), who emphasized the importance of skill development and knowledge dissemination to build a self-reliant rural economy.Dr. Tahir Saleem, Scientist (Vegetable Science), delivered a detailed lecture on entrepreneurship opportunities for rural youth in the Bandipora district. He shared insights on how modern agricultural practices and allied activities can become viable sources of income and sustainable livelihoods for the younger generation.Dr. Tariq Sultan, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bandipora-1, highlighted the critical role of KVK in agricultural development and skill enhancement in the region. As part of the practical exposure, the participants were taken to various demonstration plots maintained by KVK. These included: Lotus cultivation, Watermelon and assorted vegetable plots, Fruit nursery, Hi-tech greenhouse, Paddy seed production plots.
