Srinagar, Aug 05: A Kashmir University (KU) student from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district lost her battle for life after prolonged illness Friday evening. Sadaf Ayoub was 1st Sem. student in the department of Urdu, hailing from Lassipora, Pulwama & was fighting blood cancer
Terming Sadaf’s demise untimely and sad the Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof. Nilofer Khan expressed her grief and sorrow and prayed for peace and mercy to the departed soul. She also expressed her condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for strength and forbearance to the family.
“Losing Sadaf is an equal loss to the university and we pray for peace and mercy to her soul and sabr (patience) to the family. The whole university mourns her demise and equally shares her family’s grief,” she said in her condolence message.
Expressing deep sorrow over losing a bright student, Registrar, Kashmir University, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir said Sadaf fought her battle to cancer with patience and courage.
“She showed exemplary courage and patience while fighting the disease. It’s very rare to see a young girl, knowing she’s suffering from a fatal disease, display such immense emotional and psychological strength. May Allah rest the departed soul in Jannat ul Firdous.”
Expressing condolences and sympathy with the family, the university administration, teaching and non-teaching staff, scholars and students also prayed for the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the grieving family.
