Kashmir Marathon: Traffic deptt issues route plan for Oct 20

Srinagar, Oct 17: Ahead of the upcoming “Kashmir Marathon-2024” scheduled to take place on Sunday, 20th October, the Srinagar Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive route plan and traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement and avoid congestion during the event.
The marathon, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, is expected to see participation from a large number of people.
To avoid any inconvenience for participants and the general public, the traffic police have designated specific parking locations. Participants are advised to park their vehicles in the following places, SP College Ground, SDA Parking opposite Pick ‘N’ Choose, Multilevel Parking Press Colony, Presentation Convent School, Gindun Park Rajbagh, Institute of Hotel Management Rajbagh, Directorate of Horticulture Rajbagh, Football Ground TRC, Floriculture Park R.R. Road, Cricket Ground TRC Opp. J&K Bank Headquarters

In addition, the following traffic restrictions will be in place on 20th October, Residency Road (from Radio Kashmir crossing up to Polo View) No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM. Rajbagh and Presentation Convent School (from Jawahar Nagar/Lal Mandi to Abdullah Bridge-Zero Bridge and from Rajbagh to Amira Kadal). No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 08:30 AM. M.A. Road (from Budshah Chowk towards Dalgate and Badami Bagh to Nehru Park), No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 09:00 AM.
Residency Road (from Court Road-Clock Tower to Biscoe School Crossing) no traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 08:30 AM. Nehru Park towards Kralsangri-Nishat Foreshore Road-Habbak Crossing and Kashmir University up to Sir Syed Gate, No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 01:00 PM, Hotel Lalit-Gupkar Road & Ram Munshi Bagh**: No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 01:30 PM. Sonwar towards R.M. Bagh, No traffic movement from 05:00 AM to 01:30 PM.

The traffic police have urged residents and participants to cooperate and follow the guidelines to ensure a successful and hassle-free marathon event.
