Kargil, Aug 20: Acting Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) and Executive Councillor for Tourism, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz, along with Executive Councillor for Rural Development Department (RDD), Er Punchok Tashi, on Wednesday visited Yokma Namsuru in Sub-Division Sankoo to take stock of the ongoing preparations for the much-awaited Suru Summer Festival.They were accompanied by Councillor Parkachik Agha Ainul Huda, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo, Executive Engineers from PHE Kargil, Mechanical Division, I&FC Kargil, and SVD Sankoo, along with the Tehsildar Taisuru, Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, Assistant Director Information, Block Development Officer Taisuru, and other sectoral officers.During the visit to the festival site, the Executive Councillor for Tourism issued a series of instructions to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event. He directed the concerned departments, including PHE, PDD, and Mechanical Division, to ensure an uninterrupted water and electricity supply throughout the festival.The EC also instructed NHIDCL to carry out route dressing from Minji to the event location to provide ease of travel for visitors. He further directed the Assistant Director, Tourism, to install welcoming banners at prominent points along the route, creating a festive atmosphere for the arriving guests. EC directed AD to make proper arrangements for the PA system along with the media coverage of the eventTo ensure a dignified setting for the occasion, the EC directed the Deputy Secretary, Culture Department, to decorate the stage for VVIPs and VIPs with proper seating arrangements. SVD Sankoo was tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the entire venue. Additionally, the EC stressed on making suitable arrangements for the smooth passage of VVIP and VIP vehicles and instructed the creation of separate designated parking spaces.Highlighting the cultural essence of the festival, the EC directed the Culture Department to make elaborate arrangements for cultural performances, exhibitions of local artefacts, traditional cuisine, and other markers of Kargili heritage.Underscoring the importance of collective effort, EC Kacho Feroz urged all departments to work with diligence and dedication in the coming days to ensure that the Suru Summer Festival emerges as a grand success.
