Srinagar, Mar 21: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah Friday expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire that broke out in the Kadipora area in Anantnag, destroying over a dozen houses.
In a statement issued here, Dr Farooq urged the Anantnag district administration to promptly assist the affected households with necessary relief and compensation. He commended the efforts of the F&ES, Anantnag Police, CRPF, Army, and local residents for their swift action in containing the fire.
The NC Chief emphasised the importance of providing temporary housing and food to the affected families, as well as conducting a prompt assessment to determine appropriate compensation distribution.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Health Minister Sakina Itoo visited the fire affected in Anantnag and assured the victims that the J&K government will ensure that all their needs will be taken care of.
