Kabbadi Sparks Energy in Valley: YSS PROVINCIAL GIRLS TOURNAMENT UNDERWAY AT PAHALGAM

Srinagar, Aug 23: The District Youth Services and Sports Office Anantnag Saturday inaugurated the much-anticipated Inter-District Provincial Level Kabaddi Tournament for AAG Girls at the picturesque tourist destination of Pahalgam.A statement issued here said that the Inaugural Ceremony was graced by District Youth Services and Sports officer, Station House Officer Pahalgam and District Activity Incharge Anantnag In their address, whole lauded efforts of the Department for promoting sports among young girls and for selecting Pahalgam, the valley’s prime tourist hub, as the venue, which added grandeur and charm to the event. They further encouraged participants to showcase discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship during the tournament.The opening day witnessed a vibrant atmosphere with teams from different districts displaying spirited performances in the first-round Kabaddi matches under the Age Group of U/14. On the first Day host District Anantnag won all the 04 matches they played and Bandipora won 03 matches after playing 04 matches and they tabled at top of Points Table, While as Budgam, Kulgam, Kupwara and Shopian also won 2 matches, While as Pulwama won 01 match. The District Youth Services & Sports Office Anantnag has ensured adequate boarding and lodging arrangements for the visiting teams and officials at Sports Stadium Pahalgam and Higher Secondary School Pahalgam, thereby providing a comfortable environment for smooth conduct of the championship. The tournament is set to continue over the coming days, bringing together budding athletes from across the province and serving as a platform for nurturing talent, empowering girls, and fostering unity through sports.
