Srinagar, Sept 10: Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, Sat Sharma (CA) and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma on Wednesday visited the flood-affected areas of Pulwama district, including Padgaampora, Wandakhpora, Hanjipora, and Goripora, to assess the situation and express solidarity with the affected families.
J&K BJP Vice President Dr Shehnaz Ganie, General Secretaries Mohammad Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan, District President Pulwama Er Showkat Gayoor, Social Media Co-Incharge Sajad Raina, along with other state office bearers and district leaders, were also present on the occasion, the party said in a statement issued here.
The senior leaders were briefed by local leaders and prominent residents about the extent of damage caused to houses, agricultural land, and public infrastructure. They interacted with the locals, listened to their grievances, and assured that their issues will be taken up at the highest levels of administration for immediate and long-term redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said the BJP is committed to standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pulwama in this hour of crisis. He stressed that urgent relief measures must be expedited, adequate compensation be provided to the affected families, and proper medical care and supplies ensured in the region.
“The BJP has always believed in being available to the people in times of distress and will continue to work tirelessly to resolve their issues,” Sharma said, adding that the party will continue to monitor the situation closely and extend all possible assistance until complete normalcy is restored.
LoP Sharma reiterated the BJP’s unwavering commitment to serve society and stand by every citizen in difficult times. “The pain and suffering of the people of Pulwama is felt by everybody,” he said. “The BJP will not rest until every affected family is rehabilitated and every damaged field and home sees recovery. Our foremost priority is to ensure that relief reaches the last person in need, without delay or discrimination.”
