Mohali, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir thrashed Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) by a big margin of 109 runs in the ongoing 29th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 at PCA Mullapur, here on Wednesday.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, J&K sailed on a power-packed unbeaten century by Nasir Lone and his partnership of 83 runs with Anshul Pandita to take the score to 243/8 in the stipulated 50 overs.
Showing stellar grit and tenacity, Nasir notched up a magnificent century, scoring 102 off just 88 balls studded with 6 massive sixes and an equal number of fours, while Anshul contributed 42 runs off 69 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Suryansh Raina (30), Skipper Shubham Singh Pundir (18), Qazi Junaid (15) and Muneeb Munaf (14) were the other contributors.
For BPCL, Speedster Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 important wickets by conceding 34 runs in his 10 overs, while Paras Jaidka and Bhavya Attrey bagged 2 wickets each and Rajwinder Singh claimed one wicket.
In reply, BPCL bundled out for 134 runs to lose the match by a huge margin of 109 runs.
Abhinab Saha and Sahil Jadhav scored 26 runs each, while Gitansh Khera and Bhavya Attrey contributed 17 and 16 runs to the total respectively.
Fast bowlers Waseem Bashir, Irfan Ul Haq and Nasir Lone plotted BPCL collapse, claiming 8 wickets between them. Waseem captured 4 wickets by conceding 34 runs in his 8 overs, while Haq bagged 3 wickets by giving away 36 runs in his 7 overs and Nasir claimed one wicket. Medium pacer Sunil Kumar was the most economic bowler, who conceded just 12 runs in his 8 overs.
