Jammu, July 8: The General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association proudly announces that Sonakshi Khajuria has been selected for the National Kabaddi Coaching Camp in preparation for the upcoming 3rd Asian Youth Kabaddi Championship, to be held in Bahrain from October 19 to 25. The coaching camp will commence shortly at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre.A statement issued here said that Khajuria was chosen by the Selection Committee constituted by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, following her impressive performance during the first Youth National Kabaddi Championship held in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, from June 28 to July 1.A promising athlete, Sonakshi has previously represented Jammu and Kashmir in the 33rd Sub-Junior National Kabaddi Championship held in Patna, Bihar (2024) and the 68th National School Games held in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh (2024). Anil Kumar Gupta, President of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, lauded the efforts of the J&K girls’ team selectors—Manmeet Kour, Kajal Devi, Naida Nabi, and Nisha Rani—for their role in the trials leading to the selection of the team for the first Youth Nationals. He especially appreciated team coach Nisha Rani, under whose guidance Khajuria excelled and earned her place in the national camp. The Association extended its best wishes to Sonakshi, expressing hope that she will live up to the expectations of the national coaches and shine on the international stage.
