Srinagar, Dec 02: J&K Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC), Regional Directorate Kashmir, observed the National Pollution Prevention Day at its Sheikh-ul-Aalam Campus Rajbagh on Saturday.
The function was organised under the guidance of Regional Director J&K Pollution Control Committee, Kashmir, Rafi Ahmad Bhat and was attended by all Scientists, Engineers and other officers and officials of the JKPCC.
Event was organised in the memory of those who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas tragedy.
Bhat emphasized the importance of this day in his introductory address.
He apprised the role of JKPCC for long term strategies, prolonged approach to enforce environmental regulations on ground to control emissions from industries and other sources. Regional Director Social Forestry, chief guest of the occasion shared his views on the occasion and stressed that every citizen need to play the role and contribute to make the environment neat and clean. I
Deputy Director Information who was the guest of honour shared his views on the occasion and stressed that it is the moral duty of every citizen to keep the environment neat and clean.
The event was anchored by Sabiya Mahajan, incharge, Awareness Cell.
