Jammu, July 04: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former deputy chief minister, Kavinder Gupta on Thursday lauded the “remarkable strides” made by the Modi government in combating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, the BJP leader said, “After the progression of befitting moves against terrorism by the Modi government, Jammu and Kashmir is on the cusp of transformation with peace becoming its new hallmark.”
Reflecting on PM Modi’s recent statement in the Rajya Sabha, Gupta highlighted the effectiveness of the government’s policies in bringing an end to violence in the Union Territory.
Prime Minister emphasised that the government’s multi-pronged strategy has not only curtailed terrorism but is also on the verge of eradicating the remaining vestiges of insurgency.
Echoing the PM’s sentiments, Kavinder underscored the transformative impact of these policies on the ground. “The comprehensive approach, which included robust security measures, socio-economic development, and community engagement, has significantly reduced terrorist activities, restoring normalcy and safety in the region,” he said.
He added, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, J&K is witnessing unprecedented progress in eliminating terrorism. The government’s unwavering commitment to peace and security is evident in the substantial decline in violence and the restoration of law and order. The UT has now embarked on the journey towards peace and prosperity.”
Meanwhile, according to the statement, Mahant Jwala Soni from Ayodhya along with Narotam Sharma, former Corporator and Mahant Keshav Shukla from Ram Ashram Peer Kho Mandir felicitated Kavinder Gupta by presenting a picture of Bhagwan Ram and Prasad recognizing his outstanding work in the field of social service.
Expressing gratitude to the political and religious personalities, Kavinder said that his main aim of joining politics was to dedicate life to the welfare of people. (KNS)
