Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Contractual Teacher Association (JK-HECTA) has urged the government to increase their salaries in accordance with UGC norms throughout the Union Territory.
While speaking to the Rising Kashmir, one of the contractual teachers expressed their demand for a salary adjustment based on UGC guidelines, that have already been implemented in the Ladakh Union Territory.
“Our recruitment policy should align with that of the Health and Medical Education Department as outlined in S.O. 364,” he said
Additionally, he emphasized the need for a revision of the nomenclature, specifically changing the designation from “Need-Based Academic Arrangement Lecturer” to “Assistant Professor Contractual.”
