Jammu outplays Gandhi Nagar to lift Inter-Zonal U-17 cricket title

Jammu, Aug 24: Getting rid of Gandhi Nagar Zone in a close contest by a narrow margin of 14 runs in the summit clash, Jammu Zone lifted the title trophy of the District Level Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu at Khel Gaon, here on Saturday.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Jammu Zone scored a modest total of 104 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process.
Shivansh top scored with 40 runs off 30 balls, while Krishna contributed 23 runs off 15 balls.
For Gandhi Nagar Zone, Rajveer and Mohd Faizan took one wicket each.
In reply, Gandhi Nagar Zone bundled out for 90 runs to lose the match by 14 runs.
Rajveer top scored with 27 runs off 17 balls, while Prabdeep contributed 20 runs off 22 balls.
Manik was the wrecker-in-chief for Jammu Zone, who took 4 wickets by conceding just 5 runs in his 4 overs, while Sahil claimed 3 wickets by giving away 16 runs in his 4 overs.
