Doda, May 16: In a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and youth engagement, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Doda has successfully conducted a series of Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions across all zones of the district. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the growing passion for sports among young athletes.
These competitions were held under the guidance of District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh, and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Pritem Singh, who continues to inspire and empower youth through sporting initiatives. Zone Thathri took the lead by hosting competitions in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Chess, Carrom, Cricket, and Volleyball for U/14 and U/17 Boys and Girls. The event saw the spirited participation of 310 student-athletes, who showcased their talents and team spirit in high-energy matches that captivated spectators and officials alike. Meanwhile, Zone Gundna organized thrilling competitions in Badminton, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Wrestling for U/14 and U/17 Boys at HSS Kandote. A total of 240 participants from various schools of the zone exhibited commendable sportsmanship, leaving a mark with their competitive spirit.
In Zone Doda, a series of events in Athletics, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Badminton, and Yoga for both U/14 and U/17 Boys and Girls were successfully concluded. With a total of 165 participants, the competitions added vigour and grace to the zone’s sporting atmosphere. Notably, the events highlighted the increasing involvement of girls in competitive sports, reflecting the department’s commitment to inclusivity. Zone Assar mirrored the enthusiasm of Zone Doda by organizing similar competitions for U/14 Boys, witnessing impressive coordination and competitive zeal. Additionally, Zones Bhadarwah and Bhalla are actively conducting Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Badminton events for U/14 and U/17 Girls in Bhadarwah, while Zone Bhalla hosts Cricket and Athletics, further enriching the district’s vibrant sports culture.
