Inter college Women’s and Boy’s Table Tennis starts at Islamia College Sgr

Srinagar, Nov 09: The Inter-College Table Tennis Tournament 2022 organized by the Physical Education Department and Sports of Islamia College of Science and Commerce; Srinagar began Wednesday in the Indoor Sports Hall. 
As per official record, a total of 22 Men and 21 Women Teams from Degree Colleges of the Valley have confirmed their participation in the week-long knockout event.
While inaugurating the championship Principal, Professor DrSheikh Ajaz Bashir shared thoughts in a pre-match function while laying emphasis on clarity, direction and encouragement as the ingredients that prompt the players to perform beyond their potential,and called their participation the sensible first step. 
Dr Sheikh took keen interest in the credentials of Officiating Panel of on Court Umpires for the event.
He directed the Sports Committee members to work alongside Physical Education Department to put in place the best possible arrangements to make visitors stay immaculate.
As per official on day first five matches were played. In Women category – Govt. Degree College, Tangmarg defeated Govt. Women College, Nawakadal by two straight sets.
Likewise, in another match Govt. Degree College, Beerwah got better off Govt. Degree College, Bemina by two sets to one. 
Similarly, in Men’s event, Govt. Degree College, Bemina beat Govt. Degree College, Beerwah by 2-0. While as Sri Pratap College, Srinagar got walk-over by Govt. Degree College, Anantnag. 
The day ended with an overwhelming win by Govt. College of Education over Govt. Degree College, Magam by not dropping any set.
