Srinagar, Jan 16: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami on Tuesday chaired a meeting of key office bearers from Block Amira Kadal at the party headquarters Nawai Subha.
The gathering, convened by Provincial Vice President Kashmir and Incharge of Lal Chowk Constituency, Ahsan Pardesi, witnessed Nasir Sogami encouraging the cadre to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, the party said in a statement.
He emphasized the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to representing the people’s political aspirations. Ahsan Pardesi highlighted the importance of public outreach programs to garner support for the National Conference, positioning it as a formidable force against political challenges and local issues.
Among the attendees were Block President Hilal Ahmad Parray, Vice President Mohd Yousf, VP Central Zone YNC Fazil Bhat, Ishrat Bhat, and other prominent office bearers.
Interacting with the functionaries, Nasir said, “Over the past six years, Srinagar bore the brunt of successive lockdowns and curbs. Shopkeepers, artisans and marginal traders were not able to do their business here. We have more than three families living in one house. Youth of Srinagar  are unemployed, the heritage is in shambles, and it has been years since the city infrastructure received any upgradation and augmentation.”
The NC leader said the number of pump stations across Kashmir had seen no augmentation. He said the urban poverty in Srinagar was another stark reality, which could not be undermined.
“Thousands of households, particularly those of daily wagers, artisans, marginal traders, and those engaged in the private sector are facing many hardships due to penury induced by loss of jobs and slump in the economic activity. Scores of such families are not able to arrange two square meals for their families,” Wani said.
Meanwhile, Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami and Political Advisor to VP Mudassar Shahmiri led a party delegation to SMHS hospital to see District Secretary Srinagar Women’s Wing Romisa Tariq who is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
On the occasion, the delegation members inquired with the doctors about the medical facilities and treatment given to the ailing women’s wing leader. They comforted the family members of the ailing women’s wing functionary, praying for her quick and swift recovery.
They were accompanied by Additional Spokesperson Sheikh Ovaise, Fayaz Ahmad, SM functionaries Abrar Hamid, Ishrat Bhat, Mushtaq Bhat and others.
