Srinagar, Aug 28: In a swift joint operation, Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police killed two terrorists while foiling an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district, officials said on Thursday.The operation, conducted under OP Naushera NAR IV, was launched following intelligence inputs from the Jammu and Kashmir Police about a possible infiltration attempt.“Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged the intruders, who opened indiscriminate fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists,” Chinar Corps of Indian Army said.The Army added that the operation is still ongoing and security forces remain on high alert in the sector to prevent further attempts.“The search operation is still underway, with security forces combing the area to ensure that no other terrorists remain at large. Troops remain on high alert in the sector to prevent any further infiltration attempts,” the official said.Sources further reported that the area continues to be closely monitored, and additional security deployments have been made to strengthen border vigilance.Security officials said such coordinated operations are part of ongoing measures to secure the LoC and curb cross-border infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir.Earlier on 13th Aug, the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the LoC in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. However, one soldier was killed during the exchange of fire, officials said.The Army had neutralised two terrorists in the same sector just days earlier.
