Jammu, Aug 25: The School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized an Induction Program to welcome the 22nd batch of MBA and the 6th batch of BBA students.According to a statement issued here, the event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Supran K. Sharma, Director, Directorate Quality Assurance-SMVDU & Director, Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre-SMVDU, who extended his best wishes to the newly admitted students as they embarked on their management journey. The programme featured two distinguished alumni as guest speakers: Dr. Anu Sharma- JKAS, Under Secretary to Government, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, and Amit Laira, Special Secretary to Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank. Dr. Anu Sharma, drawing from her experiences, emphasized the power of consistency and hard work, the importance of adapting to changing circumstances, and the value of decision-making guided by mentors.She also shared insights on staying motivated in difficult times and described how books can become one’s best companions during moments of loneliness. Laira, known for his eloquence, inspired students with his story of transition.He highlighted the discipline of avoiding social media and mobile distractions while preparing for competitive examinations. Reflecting on his corporate journey, he stressed that the ability to unlearn and relearn with a positive mindset plays a crucial role in advancing one’s career. Prof. Ashutosh Vashishtha, Dean, Faculty of Management, and Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Head, School of Business, extended their congratulations to the new students and assured them of holistic mentoring to prepare for success in the corporate world. Dr. Rashi Taggar, MBA Program Coordinator, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his constant guidance in student development initiatives.
