Says India will shape a sustainable, peaceful world for future generations
Presents Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award 2024 to Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj

Jammu, Nov 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today presented the prestigious Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award for the year 2024 to Param Pujya Niranjan Peethadhishwar Shri Shri 1008 Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj. The award ceremony was organized by the Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust in Jammu.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor hailed Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj as an enlightened saint, a renowned Yoga Guru, and a distinguished scholar. He applauded the Swami’s immense contribution to the promotion of Sanskrit, as well as his efforts in propagating the ideals and values of India’s great civilization.
“Swami Ji’s selfless service to Sanskrit and his contributions to social upliftment inspire us all to renew our commitment to strengthening our traditional and cultural values, and work towards the betterment of society,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor also expressed the government’s firm resolve, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to preserve and promote India’s rich cultural heritage. He emphasized that the propagation of India’s inclusive culture, core values, artistic traditions, and the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the belief that the world is one family—was a priority for the nation.
“India, with its rich historical and cultural heritage and talented human resources, is advancing towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. In this journey, enlightened individuals from every field, especially scientists and spiritual leaders, must step forward to contribute to the development process,” the Lieutenant Governor added.
On the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Sinha called upon saints, enlightened citizens, and administrative officials to work together for the service of humanity. He emphasized the critical role of saints as conscience keepers in society, ensuring equity and justice for all.
“A social awakening is necessary for society to thrive. It is the responsibility of each individual, intellectuals, and saints to inculcate core values to build a brighter future,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor further stressed the importance of collective efforts to ensure that the benefits of development reach the grassroots level and that the process of change is managed with sensitivity.
“Leadership in every walk of life is essential for peace and prosperity. Individuals must rise above personal interests to fulfill their responsibilities,” he stated.
In his remarks, the Lieutenant Governor also commended the Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, particularly Mahant Rohit Shastri, for their efforts in promoting and popularizing the Sanskrit language. Initiatives like the Mobile Sanskrit Gurukul, Saral Sanskrit Bodh publication, and Kartavya Path magazine were highlighted for their contribution to preserving and spreading the knowledge of Sanskrit.
The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries including Sham Lal Sharma, Member of Legislative Assembly; Prof. BN Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu; Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust; senior officials, spiritual leaders, heads of religious organizations, and students.
