Srinagar, May 9: A wild black bear was captured by the Wildlife Department on Saturday in Noorkha village of Uri in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
A wildlife official told GNS that a black bear had been roaming in the area for a while, which instilled fear among the local residents.
The locals informed the Wildlife Department a few days ago about spotting a wild bear in the area, and subsequently, a cage was installed there. The bear was successfully captured this morning, he said.
He further said that after a medical check-up, the bear will be taken to a wildlife sanctuary.(GNS)
