In memory of Police Martyrs: Police inaugurates Volleyball tournament in Ganderbal, Kabbaddi Championship organised in Budgam

Srinagar, Oct 27: As a mark of honour and part of commemorating the sacrifices of Police martyrs, Police in Ganderbal kick started “Martyrs Premier League Volleyball Tournament” at DPL Ganderbal. Besides, “Kabbaddi Championship” was also organised at Salsabeel Educational Institute Humhama in Budgam .
In Ganderbal, the tournament was inaugurated by ASP GanderbalFerozYeyha-JKPS and was accompanied by DySP DAR GanderbalMuzaffar Jan-JKPS. Besides, Principal Govt Girls HSS GanderbalZahoor Ahmad Peer and District Treasury Officer Dr Sarir-JKAS graced the occasion as Guest of honour. Other senior officers of Police and Civil Departments were also present on the said occasion.
While addressing participants, ASP Ganderbal appreciated all the teams for taking part in the sports event and also stressed upon the youth of the District to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. Sixteen teams of different Institutions of District Ganderbal will be participating in the tournament. The inaugural match was played between Dream Land Hr. Sec. School GanderbalVsQamariya Model School Ganderbal, which was won by Dream Land Hr. Sec. School by 2:0.
It is pertinent to mention here that Police is organising different sports, cultural and educational events like Volleyball, Cricket, essay competition, cultural programmes, marathon and other co-curricular activities across the district and will culminate on 31st October 2022.
In Budgam, Police organised a Kabbaddi Championship at Salsabeel Educational Institute Humhama in Budgam. 4 teams participated in the championship namely Green Falcons (Salsabeel Educational Institute Humhama), Yellow (Night Angle), Blue (Hawks) and Red (Robins).
The final match of the championship was played between Green Falcons (Salsabeel Educational Institute Humhama, Budgam) and Red (Robins) in which Green Falcons (Salsabeel Educational Institute Humhama) emerged as winners by 7 points.
Lines Officer DPL BudgamGhulamMohamad presented the trophies to winning team and runners up besides, refreshment was provided to all participating players.
