Srinagar, Jan 02: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakina Itoo on Thursday visited Lal Ded Maternity Hospital Srinagar and took stock of health care facilities being provided to the patients.
During the visit, the Health Minister examined patient treatment, heating provisions, and the availability of drugs and healthcare workers.
She visited different areas including causality, labor room, blood center, labs, and general wards, and interacted with patients and their attendants.
Sakina was satisfied with the staff availability and arrangements. The minister directed the hospital’s Medical Superintendent to increase heating hours because of Chillai Kalan.
After the visit, the Health Minister admitted that some vacancies at the maternity hospital had been referred to the concerned authorities.
“There isn’t a significant shortage of doctors and paramedical staff. Indeed, the valley’s oldest and only maternity hospital is constantly bustling with patients from various parts of Kashmir,” she said.
The Minister emphasized that patient care should never be compromised and directed the hospital administration to ensure round-the-clock availability of medicines and high-quality treatment for all patients.
