Kulgam, Sept 15: Sayar Ahmad Reshi, an independent candidate backed by the banned Jamaat-e-Islami, claimed he has no competition in the Kulgam constituency and will win by a large margin, urging supporters to celebrate polling day like a festival.
Reshi was speaking to the media during a roadshow in his constituency, which was seen as a major event in the district, featuring hundreds of bikes and other vehicles.
He expressed gratitude to his supporters and well-wishers, urging them to stay active in the final moments of the campaign. He encouraged them to take care of the surrounding areas, visit places they haven’t yet covered, campaign for the candidate, and ensure that every vote is casted wisely, with none wasted.
In response to a question about many candidates in the fray, Reshi said, “I don’t have any competition, and those who consider me a competitor should know that I will win by over 60,000 votes.”
