GMC Anantnag constitutes multidisciplinary investigation team for Verinag outbreak

Committee to Submit Action Plan to GMC Principal by January 31

Anantnag, Jan 28: Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, on Tuesday constituted a multidisciplinary team to investigate the sources of a recent outbreak in Gutligund, Verinag, and to recommend preventive and control measures.

According to an official order, the team will be chaired by Dr. Mahbooba Rasool, Associate Professor of Community Medicine. Other members include Dr. Abiroo Jan, Associate Professor of Microbiology; Dr. Irfan Gul, Assistant Professor of General Medicine; Dr. Asif Aziz, Consultant in Pediatrics; and Mr. Aijaz Ahmad, Health Educator from UHTC Brakpora.

The order further said that the expert team will visit the affected area and submit an action plan to the GMC Principal by January 31, 2025.

Additionally, the team will provide the necessary healthcare interventions to the affected population.
