Jammu, Feb 19: The Department of Biotechnology and NSS Unit of Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, Wednesday organised an awareness lecture on career prospects in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Bioinformatics in the college’s conference hall. The event aimed to educate students on emerging career opportunities and advancements in these rapidly evolving fields.
The session featured Dr Ankit Mahajan and Dr S. Bharathiraja, Assistant Professors from the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, as keynote speakers. They provided valuable insights into recent developments, research opportunities, and career pathways in these disciplines. The lecture was highly interactive, with students and NSS volunteers actively engaging in discussions and seeking guidance on academic and professional growth. Principal Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta commended the initiative, highlighting the importance of career awareness programmes in shaping students’ futures. He expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their contributions and encouraged students to explore these fields for promising career opportunities. The event was coordinated by Prof Kiran Bala, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, ensuring its smooth execution.
