Udhampur, Aug 27: Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, in collaboration with ‘My Bharat’ Udhampur and the Social Welfare Department, Wednesday organised a one-day workshop under the esteemed guidance of Prof (Dr) Seema Arora, Principal of the College.A statement issued here said that the aim of the workshop was to educate stakeholders about transformative flagship schemes and initiatives being implemented by the Union Territory Government. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The workshop featured expert speakers including Dr Sudesh, Medical Officer, Health Department Arshad Noomani, Assistant Director, Industries, Anikesh, Sub Inspector, Police Department Asif Beig, Accounts Assistant, RDD Department, and Pooja Jamwal, Gender Specialist, Sankalp-Hub, Social Welfare Department.During their sessions, the speakers highlighted the role of flagship schemes in promoting inclusive growth, empowering youth, and ensuring sustainable development. Discussions focused on government efforts to encourage industrial growth, boost tourism, expand healthcare access through initiatives such as the AB-PMJAY-SEHAT scheme, and empower youth through programmes like Mission YUVA and Mumkin. Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Prof (Dr) Seema Arora said such programmes enrich students’ knowledge while preparing them to act as ambassadors of change in society. She also appreciated the efforts of Prof Shaista Yasmeen, NSS Programme Officer, and Kushal Gupta, Deputy Director, My Bharat Udhampur—an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India—for successfully organising the event. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes, followed by refreshments for the participants.
