GDC Kargil organised inter-college traditional archery event

Kargil, Oct 05: Ladakh Craft and Design Skill Centre Government Degree College Kargil in collaboration with USHA International organised inter-college Traditional Archery Tournament at the College Campus on 5th October 2024.Players from ITI Kargil, Government Polytechnic Kargil and GDC Kargil participated in the tournament in the category of Boys and girls.
Coordinator USHA International Ms. Shaista Ayoub welcomed all the participants on behalf of the organising team. Principal GDC Kargil Prof.Disket Angmo Inaugurated the event with Along with State Coordinator USHA Shaista Ayoub and Coordinator IQAC Prof. MNM Shabani. Teams from GDC Kargil and Polytechnic College Kargil qualified for the finals after the qualifying rounds.
Final Match was played between GDC Kargil and Polytechnic College Kargil in both the categories. Joint Director Youth and Sports UT Ladakh Tahir Hussain Zubdavi attended the final ceremony as the Chief Guest. Prof MNM Shabani gave welcome speech on behalf of the organising team and gave a brief address on Benefits of Archery Sports. In his address Chief Guest Tahir Zubdavi assured full support to the college in promotion of Traditional as well as Modern Archery in GDC Kargil.
GDC Kargil clinched the finals and declared winner in both categories while Polytechnic College Kargil bagged the runner up trophy.
The players were distributed Medals, Certificates and Mementoes by the Chief Guest.
Various Stalls were installed by the College Sector Skill Centres and USHA Silai School Kargil, showcasing skill products designed by the students, alongside the Venue.
ZPEO Taisuru Mohammad Ishaq and Renowned Archer Mohammad Sadiq Shalti were specially invited as referee of the tournament. Volunteers from Sector Skill Centres of the college were involved in the arrangement of the event.
Lt. Ujwala Koche (Director Sports)GDC Kargil Presented the vote of thanks to the guests and all participants on behalf of the organising college.
