Ganderbal, June 20: In the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Ganderbal, continues to foster a culture of wellness and athleticism through a series of engaging Yoga sessions and inter-school zonal level competitions held across multiple zones of the district.
Yoga sessions were conducted in several educational institutions, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike. At GHSS Ganderbal, 60 girls and 12 staff members actively engaged in a motivational Yoga session where a variety of asanas were performed, promoting mindfulness and physical well-being.BHS Shallabugh also contributed to the campaign by organizing a co-ed Yoga session involving 72 participants, underscoring the importance of integrating Yoga into everyday life.
Alongside Yoga, a strong focus on sports competitions added vibrancy to the day.In parallel event, Zone Kangan conducted a thrilling Kho-Kho competition for boys u-19 at the Zonal Office ground in Kijpara, Kangan.The match culminated with BHSS Kangan emerging victorious against the strong contenders from BHSS Manigam.The Department’s officials later felicitated both teams with trophies, appreciating their talent and sportsmanship.
