Ganderbal, January 22: In a commendable initiative aimed at promoting road safety, the Traffic Police Kangan, under the supervision of DySP Traffic Rural Ganderbal Gulzar Ahmad, Wednesday conducted a free eye screening camp for drivers in the area.
The camp, organised as part of ongoing Road Safety Week activities, witnessed enthusiastic participation from drivers operating in and around Kangan. A team of medical professionals provided free eye checkups, raising awareness about the importance of good vision for safe driving.
Speaking on the occasion, DySP Traffic Rural Ganderbal Gulzar Ahmad stressed on the significance of clear eyesight for preventing road accidents. “Drivers often overlook their eye health, which can lead to mishaps on the road. This initiative ensures that they are fit to drive, ultimately contributing to safer roads,” he said.
Many drivers expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating that such programs help them understand the importance of regular eye checkups. The event also included a session on road safety awareness, where drivers were reminded about the need to follow traffic rules and maintain their vehicles in good condition.
The Traffic Police Kangan plans to hold similar events in other areas to continue promoting road safety and awareness among the driving community.
