Srinagar, June 17: To promote excellence in teaching and equip newly inducted faculty with essential pedagogical skills, the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), University of Kashmir (KU), Tuesday commenced its 92nd Guru Dakshta Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) in an offline mode.

The four-week long programme is being attended by participants from various higher educational institutions across the country. It aims to orient new faculty towards learner-centric education, educational philosophy, curriculum development, and institutional values. The course also includes modules on MOOCs, SWAYAM, digital literacy, AI-powered tools, and use of technology in teaching-learning processes to align with the evolving needs of higher education.

Speaking on the occasion, Director MMTTC KU, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Nazir, said: “This programme is a crucial step in shaping teachers who are not just subject experts but also committed mentors and academic leaders. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive foundation that empowers them to inspire and innovate in their teaching practices.”

Course Coordinator, MMTTC KU, Dr. Javaid Iqbal Khan, highlighted that the carefully structured sessions and expert-led interactions will help early-career faculty build a strong foundation in both academic and institutional responsibilities. The event proceedings were conducted by Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Wani, Coordinator MMTTC KU, while Prof. Sameer Gul, Deputy Director MMTTC KU, delivered a formal vote of thanks. The programme will continue till July 17, with a series of expert sessions, interactive engagements, and practical modules aimed at nurturing reflective and effective educators.
