Jammu, July 30: Former Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Ashok Kumar, an ace athlete and outstanding spiker of his time, met Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta in her Office Chambers.A statement Ashok Kumar, who has the distinction of serving as Director Sports on Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) after his retirement, shared his experience with the Director General and discussed some core concerns with regard to promotion of sports and games, raising of infrastructural facilities and overall health of the Department. Ashok Kumar, who had the honour of serving School Games Federation of India (SGFI) as the Senior Vice President also shared his experience of working with this Federation. He also threw light on his role as Director Sports SMVDSB in shaping the careers of ace para-athletes Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar, besides discussing Centrally Sponsored Schemes and their implementation in accordance with good health of the Organisation/Department. Earlier, Ashok Kumar presented a bouquet to the Director General YSS as a token of gratitude. Anuradha Gupta while terming the meeting a healthy one, extended thanks to the former Departmental Officer for goodwill gesture and appreciated him for his invaluable insights. She said the Officers and Officials with dynamism and energy like Ashok Ji are always a guiding force for any Organisation.
