First Hajj flight to take off from Srinagar Intl. airport on June 7

Srinagar, June 01: The first Hajj flight of 2023 will take off from Srinagar International Airport on June 7 and all arrangements have been finalized in this regard, officials on Thursday said.
Director, Srinagar International Airport Kuldeep Singh Rishi told Rising Kashmir that Hajj flights will commence from the airport on June 7 onward till June 23.
“All arrangements have been finalized at the airport. For the ease of Hajj pilgrims, we have kept many facilities at the airport, including X-Ray scanner machines at Hajj house,  Bemina so that they will not face any issue,” he said.
Singh said that Hajj pilgrims will board special SRTC vehicles from Hajj house Bemina till the airport.  On June 7,  single flights would leave for Jeddah International Airport each and would carry 315 pilgrims in separate schedules, he said.
“The return of Hajj flights will begin from July 17 till August 2 respectively,” Singh said.
Executive Officer J&K Hajj Committee Abdul Salam Mir said that pilgrims who have been allotted their seats in first flight (3 pm) will have to report to Srinagar Hajj House at 10 am and for second flight pilgrims will report to Hajj House at 2 pm respectively.
He said that the first flight of Hajj-2023 pilgrims would take off on June 7 while the last flight would depart on June 22.
This year over 12,000 pilgrims are going for Hajj-2023 from Jammu and Kashmir. He said adequate arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage at Makkah-tul-Mukarramah and Madina Munawarah in Saudi Arabia for the Hujjaj Kiram.
On Thursday, Chairperson, J&K Haj Committee, Safina Beigh also convened a meeting of officers at Haj House Bemina to review the arrangements for comfort and convenience of pilgrims scheduled to perform Hajj, this year.
Meanwhile, Hajj Committee of Jammu and Kashmir has notified the information of selected Hajj pilgrims to collect passports and other material from their respective district offices. 
“All the Selected Pilgrims of Hajj 2023 who belong to Kashmir Division except Srinagar are hereby informed that they can collect their Passports and other material from their respective Deputy Commissioners’ office from 03/06/2023 during working hours on production of State Haj Dues Payment Slip (JK Bank Slip) and Passport receipt”, reads a circular issued on Thursday.
It further said “Pilgrims of District Srinagar shall collect their Passports and other material from Haj House Bemina Srinagar from 03/06/2023 to 05/06/2023 during working hours on production of the above-mentioned documents.
