Festive fever grips city markets ahead of Eid -ul – Fitr

Crowded markets, heavy traffic movement set the scene for celebrations

Srinagar, Apr 05: As the holy month of Ramadan nears to a close, the city markets are picking up the vibrancy amid hustle and bustle with shoppers in large numbers thronging the markets ahead of the upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid – ul – Fitr.
The city has transformed into a spectacle of celebrations, echoing the joy and camaraderie that permeates every corner of Srinagar during this atmosphere of festivity.
For the past few days the markets are reflecting the traditional charm and vibrant atmosphere transforming into a hub of cheer and festivity.
The markets across the city are brimming with celebratory fervor that has gripped the entire valley during this auspicious time.
The heart of the Srinagar city, LalChowk, has emerged as a focal point of the Eid preparations. Adorned with decorative market streets with shoppers indulged in different kinds of purchases to mark the joyous occasion.
Meanwhile at several places the huge crowds are leading to prolonged traffic jams along the busy streets of the city giving a tough time to the commuters.
“In the coming days the rush is likely to increase more and we are planning for traffic diversions to make it comfortable for the commuters and shoppers”, an official from the traffic department said.
“The atmosphere has gripped the festive fever in view of Eid ulfitr.. These days markets are remaining filled with people buying clothes, sweets, and gifts. It marks the beginning of celebration and togetherness,”Imran Ahmad a shopkeeper at lalChowk said.
Those associated with the business revealed that these days the market is offering a diverse range of clothing options, from traditional attire to trendy dresses and accessories, reflecting the fusion of heritage and contemporary styles.
The markets across the city are abuzz with the festive atmosphere drawing shoppers in large numbers. As the holy month nears to an end, the aroma of delicacies is wafting through the air, drawing visitors to restaurants and food outlets to relish the Iftaar meals during these last days of the month of Ramadan.
“Eid is incomplete without indulging in shopping, purchasing. The market is abuzz with people enjoying buying different stuff in preparation of the auspicious occasion. This is the time when business increases manifold in the markets.”,Imtiyaz Ahmad a local store owner said.
These days the markets are adorned with colorful decorations and aura spreading joyous vibes in the atmosphere.
“Eid is a time for giving and sharing happiness. Purchasing new clothes and gifts for the loved ones marks an important aspect of Eid,” Sabiya, a young shopper said.
The vibrant ambiance of the Srinagar city markets during Eid ul-Fitr not only showcases the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir but also highlights the spirit of unity and togetherness that defines this auspicious occasion.
The city markets have come alive with vibrancy and excitement ahead of Eid ul-Fitr, offering a glimpse into the rich traditions and festive spirit of Kashmir. Amidst the hustle and bustle, the essence of togetherness and joy prevails, making Eid a truly memorable and cherished experience for all.
