In his thought provoking address, Azhar Hajini highlighted the importance of an inclusive society where people with special needs are loved, respected and helped. ‘’Don’t assume that people with disabilities would always require some assistance in leading their lives and the first step is to treat them as equals. Understand their needs and learn about specific details on how you can assist’’. he added. Additional Commissioner Kashmir in his emotionally charged speech spoke about the problem which people with disabilities are facing and lavished his praise on the parents of such children who sacrifice everything to raise their kids in the best possible manner. Principal of the college and SP West Srinagar also expressed their views about the relevance of the day.
