Jammu, April 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting today to review the prevailing security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting, which involved key senior officials, focused on strengthening measures to tackle terrorism in the region.
The meeting was attended by DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, ADGP CID J&K Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, and DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shiv Kumar Sharma.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor directed officials to implement strong and coordinated efforts to completely dismantle the terrorist ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasised that the destruction of terrorism required a collective resolve from both the people of the Union Territory and the nation.
“It is the collective resolve of the people of J&K and the nation to destroy the root of terror emanating from our neighbourhood. We must be resolute to fulfill this mission,” said LG Sinha.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed the need for decisive action against Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who provide logistics and support to terrorists, including helping them identify targets and escape routes. He directed authorities to focus on eradicating the infrastructure and support systems of terrorism in every corner of the region.
“Take strong action against OGWs who are providing logistics to terrorists, identifying targets for them and helping them to escape. Infrastructure and support systems of terrorism in every nook and corner of the Union Territory have to be dismantled permanently,” he said.
LG Sinha also underscored the importance of ensuring the safety of civilians, making it clear that the government’s priority was to provide a sense of security to the common man.
“It should be our priority to ensure a sense of security to the common man,” he added.
Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor directed officials to further strengthen the security grid and called for improved coordination and synergy among all security agencies operating in the region.
The meeting aimed at reinforcing Jammu and Kashmir’s security framework comes amid heightened concerns over the region’s safety, and authorities are focused on taking swift, coordinated action to curb terrorism and enhance public security.
