Electrical Engineering deptt wins Govt Polytechnic Jammu’s Kabbadi tournament

Jammu, Dec 23: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu on Friday organized an Inter-Departmental Kabbadi Tournament as part of the annual sports calendar, in which eight teams of all the engineering and humanities departments participated. 
The tournament was declared open by Principal Er. Arun Bangotra, who was the chief guest on the occasion, in presence of all the heads of the department and sports in-charges. 
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal stressed the players to play the game in the right spirit as true sportspersons. Kabaddi, he said, is a competitive contact game that is played all over India but is one of the favorite games played in the rural areas of North India. 
Mr. Tareq Amin, Sports Secretary of Govt Polytechnic Jammu presented a vote of thanks to the chief guest and all organizing committees for making the tournament successful. He specially thanked the DYSSU Jammu and Technical Panel deputed by District Youth Services and Sports Office Jammu which includes Mrs. Bandana Sharma Lecturer Physical Education, Jasdev Singh PEM, Vishal Singh PET, Sanjeet Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Sabita. 
In the 1st semi-final, Electrical Engineering Department beat Automobile Department by 32-20 pts. In the second semi-final, Mechanical Engineering Department beats Civil Department by 19-10 pts and in the final, Electrical Engineering Department beat Mechanical Department by 37-23 pts. 
Others present on the occasion were Mr Manjeet Singh Subash Amin, HOD, Electrical, Mr Subash Kumar, HOD Civil Engg, Lectures Mr PK Angral,  Amit Sharma, Chamel Singh, PEM, Toshi Devi, PET.
